AI training with demonstrable quality: NLQF level 6

The level of an AI programme is hard to compare. Ours is benchmarked at NLQF level 6, comparable to a HBO-bachelor's degree. So you know exactly what level your employees are developing at, both nationally and internationally.

  • Demonstrable quality

You invest in training at a level comparable to a bachelor's degree - not a one-off knowledge session, but skills employees actually apply in their work.

  • Objectively assured level

The knowledge and skill level of your employees is independently tested and assured. You know exactly what a completed programme is worth.

  • Easy to justify

Training aligns with national standards, making internal and external accountability easier - from budget owner to regulator.

EU AI Act

Get the basics in place: the EU AI Act and AI Essentials

The EU AI Act is Europe's first comprehensive legal framework for AI, with rules on risk, transparency, human oversight and data quality. Organisations deploying AI face obligations around risk management, governance and employee training. With the AI Essentials programme, every employee gains:

  • An understanding of what AI is and what it can and cannot do
  • Insight into the opportunities and risks of AI in their own work context
  • Basic skills to apply AI safely, responsibly and efficiently
  • Awareness of regulation such as the EU AI Act and its impact on their work

Rolling out AI Essentials organisation-wide lays the foundation for responsible AI adoption and reduces compliance and reputational risk.

In-company training that sticks: blended learning

Many organisations choose either e-learning or a single training day. Both have limitations: e-learning lacks application and follow-through, while a one-off workshop rarely leads to lasting behavioural change. That's why we work with a blended learning method:

Online modules

Flexible knowledge building at your own pace, fitted around the job.

Practical assignments

Focused on your own work context, so what's learned delivers value for your organisation right away.

Live sessions - in-company or online

Deepening, interaction and application with our teachers: at your office or online.

Learning becomes a continuous process in which employees build and apply new skills step by step. Not just more knowledge, but real adoption of AI in processes, ways of working and decision-making.

Three levels within your organisation

Effective AI adoption requires a layered approach. Not everyone needs to become an expert, but everyone must be able to participate. We distinguish three levels:

Level 1Most chosen starting point

AI Essentials

A shared foundation of AI knowledge and skills for the whole organisation, regardless of role or department.

  • Organisation-wide awareness of opportunities, risks and responsible use
  • Basic skills to use AI tools effectively in daily work
  • A foundation for the training requirements of the EU AI Act
Level 2

AI Practitioners

One or more employees per department who become the driving force behind concrete AI applications.

  • Develop and implement AI solutions, such as AI agents for HR, sales, marketing or operations
  • Translate organisational goals into practical AI use cases for their team
  • Act as the internal go-to and sparring partner for colleagues and management
Level 3

AI Experts

Technically oriented professionals who deploy AI strategically and go beyond building standalone applications.

  • Develop their own AI models, applications and data-driven products
  • Build production-grade AI systems with techniques like RAG, vector databases and LangChain
  • Set the direction for the organisation's AI strategy, architecture and innovation roadmap

Additional programmes for individual learners

Alongside the organisation-wide tracks, individual employees can follow these additional programmes with us. They start every six weeks in small cohorts of up to four participants, or can be followed entirely individually.

A great deal learned in a short time

“Amsterdam Data Academy gave our whole team a foundational training in prompting and building AI agents. A few enthusiasts then continued with a more in-depth track. Thanks to the unique blended learning approach, we learned a great deal in a short time.”

Frequently asked questions

Where does the in-company AI training take place?

Wherever you want: at your office, at an external venue, or (partly) online. The blended approach combines online modules with live sessions - we schedule those in-company or online, whatever works best for your teams.

What does an in-company AI training cost?

That depends on the number of participants, the chosen levels and the degree of customisation. In a free consultation we map out your situation, after which you receive a concrete proposal including the investment.

What group size is this suitable for?

From a single team to the entire organisation. AI Essentials is rolled out organisation-wide; AI Practitioners and AI Experts are trained per team or department in smaller groups.

What exactly is NLQF level 6?

NLQF is the Dutch qualifications framework that independently classifies the level of education programmes, linked to the European EQF. Level 6 is comparable to a bachelor's degree. Amsterdam Data Academy is the first and only data & AI training provider classified at this level: learning outcomes, content and level are independently assessed.

Does this help us comply with the EU AI Act?

The EU AI Act expects organisations to ensure, among other things, that employees working with AI have sufficient AI literacy. AI Essentials lays that foundation organisation-wide. In the consultation we discuss what your situation requires.

Can we be invoiced VAT-free?

Yes. As a CRKBO-registered training institute we invoice VAT-free. For organisations that cannot (fully) reclaim VAT - such as healthcare, education and government - that directly saves 21%.
